Is Brent Rivera suitable for children?

Overall Rating

Content is generally fine, should keep your kids entertained for a good hour or so. I’d say Brent Rivera is best suited for kids 10 and older. Not really annoying either, so parents might find him palatable.

Suitability Rating

Brent Rivera is suitable for kids 10 years and older. You could argue he’s suitable for 6 - 9 year olds too, but some of his videos are for a more mature audience. Mainly the videos where he and sometimes his sister, Alexa - go on 100 dates or do kissing videos where they are kissing their friends' girlfriends etc.

In terms of his content, I’m really struggling to categorise it. It really is just a bit of everything. From going on 100 dates, making hidden rooms. “Surviving” different hotels. Going on $10 and $100,000 dates, letting a monkey control his life for 24 hours. Like I said, a bit of everything. It’s all cookie cutter stuff, you’ll be familiar with a lot of it as most of the other similar YouTubers are doing half of it already.

For the most part none of Brent’s content is offensive or unsuitable. It’s probably not great for kids aged 6, more 8, 9, 10 and older ages.

To be critical, some of the videos are just extreme shows of how much money he has. Spending crazy amounts on luxury things etc. Makes for good entertainment for kids, but reality is not everyone lives like he does and you might have to tell your children that.

Annoyance Rating

Brent Rivera isn’t annoying. He doesn’t shout much, he’s not got a fake sense of urgency about him. Vast majority of his videos are more in a vlog style. I don’t enjoy the content, but it’s also not going to annoy me if my daughter is watching him. More YouTubers need to note how he does it.

Merchandise and Sponsorships

I’ve not come across any mention of merchandise on the videos I’ve seen. Although I’d actually be surprised if there was any as this guy seems so well off, he probably doesn’t need any more money!
