Is EYstreem suitable for children?

So EYstreem has two main channels: his main one is focused around Minecraft and his other channel is a reaction channel.

Overall Rating

High production quality Minecraft videos, classic “Youtuber Voice” - non stop, high energy and loud. Quick cuts in videos. Generally fine for older kids.

Suitability Rating

I’ve got EYstreem down as being suitable for 6-9 and 10-13 year olds. His content, as far as I have seen, is based almost exclusively around Minecraft. Judging by the videos, quite a lot of effort goes into these. Putting the quick cuts to one side, they are made to a high quality. 

A lot of them are story based, which follow themes such as how to build things in Minecraft, testing viral tricks and hacks to see if they actually work and also scary Minecraft myths.

With the “Scary Minecraft Myths” none of it is actually scary, but for the younger kids, say 6 and younger, you probably wouldn’t want them watching.

Content wise, I don’t think there is much to shout about. There’s the occasional part where he might say “What the” and then the video cuts to another scene and it’s pretty obvious a swear word was going to follow it. I’ve seen one video where he has a sledge hammer and is smashing stuff up in a house. I wasn’t too impressed by that as it might give off the impression that it's OK to do that kind of thing. 

Annoyance Rating

I’d say EYstreem is pretty annoying from a parents point of view. He’s loud, shouty and makes silly facial expressions. He’s the definition of the “Youtuber Voice”. 

Another thing I find really annoying is that his videos have lots of cuts in them. By this I mean that you’re never looking at the same thing for more than a few seconds. It always cuts to a different scene. I’m going to coin him one of the many “Quick Cut Kings” of YouTube. I feel like you don’t get enough time to take in what’s going on before you’re on to the next thing. Is this good for attention spans? Who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
